When I came across Robert Kiyosaki’s book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, I finally realized that working a full time job and hoping to retire and get a pension was not going to cut it for me and I was very disappointed with the returns I was getting from the mutual funds available at my workplace.

I decided, as Kiyosaki suggests, to get educated. I began my journey attending a few workshops and started meeting other investors and like-minded people. I joined the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) and attended their monthly meetings for a while, with the purpose of learning the strategies, understanding the market and building up my knowledge while putting money aside from my employment income to be able to purchase my first investment property almost 10 years ago.
